    2022-Volume 4

Happy Holidays from all of us at Belle Parc. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  Thanks to our special volunteer elves who have crafted and installed decorations throughout the resort, to guests who decorated the tree in the Activity Center, and a thank you to our guests who are decorating their homes, RVs and sites.  Belle Parc has never looked so festive.  Please remember to not cover the 5-digit 911 site number on the lamp post at your site as this number guides emergency vehicles to your site location. Guests should not drill holes in the concrete or decks for any reason.  Care should be taken when placing anything in the ground as there are wires, cables and pipes close to the surface in all areas of the resort.  Also be careful of any wires strung on or off the ground as these can become tripping hazards or can be damaged by our mowing equipment.

Our dedicated staff are here to help you with all your requests and needs.  If you need any assistance, please call the main office at (352) 593-5852 and select from available options.  If no one answers, please leave a message and we will return your call.  The Reservation Office is open Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm; Saturday and Sunday 10am – 4pm. You can also reach the Reservation Office via email at info@belleparcrvresorts.com

The Mail Center Office is open Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm; Saturday 10am – 4pm.  The building is open 24/7 for guests to access their personal mail boxes. The Mail Center has its own outside entrance, to the far left of the Welcome Center building, which is at the entrance to Belle Parc.

The Activity Center is across the lake from the Welcome Center and the office is open Monday – Saturday 10am – 2pm.  If you cannot reach the staff in person or via telephone, their email is activities@belleparcrvresorts.com

The Resort has the capability of texting notifications to guests; however, due to the high cost and limitations on message size and attachments, this will only be used in case of emergency.  If you have more than one telephone number on file, please let our staff know which one should be used for emergency texts, should they occur.  If you would like all email notifications to be sent to your phone, please provide the email address for your phone.  If you chose to do this, there may be size limits and the attachments may not appear as they do on your computer.

For after-hours maintenance emergencies only, such as water, sewer and electric, please call (352) 587-7172.  For all medical and other emergencies, please call 911 and give them your 5-digit site number and street name. This was provided to you upon check-in and is also on the lamp post on your site.  Do NOT give them the Resort address; that will take them to the Welcome Center instead of your site.  Belle Parc has a siren operated sensor system that allows emergency vehicles to automatically open the gate upon arrival. Do NOT direct them to enter through the back gate, which is padlocked and is only to be used in the case of an evacuation order.

There is an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) machine in the Activity Center.

Your go-to place for general Resort information and upcoming activities is on cable TV channel 3.  This information plays continuously in a loop; if you miss something, it will play again.  If you do not use the Resort cable, this channel is always playing on the TV in the Welcome Center.  We have also added a second Message Board at the Welcome Center; the other is at the Fitness Center.  These are updated daily.

For the safety and comfort of guests and your pets, please keep your pets on a 4’ – 6’ non-retractable leash and under the owner’s control at all times except while in our leash-free dog park.  Please pick up after your pet.  The areas surrounding sites and the berm in the lake are not pet walking areas.  Do not allow your pet to use another guest’s site to relieve themselves; in particular, do not allow your pet to urinate on other guests’ signs and yard ornaments.  Your pet should be no farther in the grass than one foot from the road surface.  It is hazardous to walk close to any natural water source or retention ponds as alligators and poisonous snakes inhabit those areas. Pets are not allowed in the resort buildings or in food service areas (like the food trailer) unless they are a certified service companion.

For the enjoyment and safety of all our guests, please obey all speed (10 MPH) and traffic signs throughout the resort.  Smoking is allowed only on your site.  Please note we have added the firepit behind the Activity Center as an exception this year and made it a designated smoking area.

The Park Models have sold so we will not be renting them.

For your safety and that of your pets, please do not feed stray animals or any wildlife in the Resort.  It is illegal to intentionally feed sandhill cranes and the American alligator.  Penalties include a fine up to $500 for violators.  When fed, wildlife can overcome their natural wariness and learn to associate people with food. When this happens, wildlife can become aggressive; some alligators have had to be removed and killed. Please enjoy and photograph wildlife only from a safe distance.

The Florida RV Trade Association will host the 38th Annual RV SuperShow, the nation’s largest RV Show. It returns once again to the expansive Florida State Fairgrounds, Wednesday, January 18 through Sunday, January 22.  Coupons for discounted admittance fees will be available in limited quanties in January.

Propene purchases for Class A, B and C RVs is cash only beginning this year.  The sign-up sheet is in the Mail Center.  The driver comes every Wednesday. You must be present to obtain service.

    Reservation Office

In addition to taking reservations and payments, you can also call us when you need a work order placed to fix an issue with your site, for maintenance concerns with any of our buildings or grounds, if you would like to set up an Internet cable modem installation or to request a mower or weed eater delivered to your site.  We do not loan ladders to guests.

If you would like us to automatically make your site fee and electric payments (and Internet charges if applicable) each month, you can complete an authorization form and we will make those payments either on the 1st or 15th of each month until paid in full. We have laundry quarters available here.

Jackets and Hoodies for sale.  Just in time for the cool weather!  Belle Parc Jackets and hoodies are now on sale in the Reservation Office.  We also have t-shirts, golf shirts and hats for sale.  If we do not have the size you want, please let us know and we will attempt to order these from our vendor to arrive before February 1.

The Welcome Center has a TV and 2 very comfortable recliners, as well as tables/chairs and plenty of books to borrow. The door on the left side is left unlocked during the day and you can use the code to enter later in the evening. You are also welcome to use the tables/chairs on the back deck.  Library books are also available in the Activity Center at the front door and in the cabinets in the Fitness Center.  Games and puzzles are also available in these areas.

    Mail Center

The United States Postal Service delivery time has changed; therefore, we are sometimes unable to process all mail before the end of day.  It will be processed the next morning.  We do check for perishable items and handle them accordingly. Please note that we do our best to process mail as it arrives.

Many cell phone apps send delivery notices that mail or packages have been delivered to Belle Parc.  Please note that these messages are not always accurate and we may not have actually received the package.  A recent example is a guest who was notified that a package was delivered by USPS; however, the notification was sent on Veteran’s Day when the USPS was closed.

The mailroom is particularly busy this time of year.  We average more than 80 packages per day and that is in excess of letter mail! So, please ensure you pick up your package(s) on a daily basis, so we have room for more.  We will call or email you when packages arrive.  If you want to check on a delivery, we can be reached at 352 593-5852 option 4 or via email mail@belleparcrvresorts.com

We secure guest mail in locked mail boxes that guests can access, with a key that corresponds to your 3-digit site # at any time.  Please visit us to pick up your key.  There is a $25 charge for lost keys.

Small to medium size boxes that do not fit inside your personal mailbox will be locked into one of our cubbies; we will place a lettered key that will open the corresponding larger lettered bins above and below the guest mailboxes.  For boxes that do not fit in the bins, you will be alerted with a brightly colored note in your mail box that you will need to present to the mailroom attendee during open hours.  Please drop the lettered bin key into the metal “KEY RETURN BOX” found on the barn doors over the counter. We appreciate everyone picking up their boxes as soon as possible as the mail room gets very crowded.

Very large or heavy deliveries, such as furniture, RV parts or Vehicle parts, should be picked up by the guest directly from the delivery driver.  If guests cannot be found to pick up these items upon delivery, staff will refuse the shipment and let the guest know.  We do not have room to store very large items and our staff is not equipped to handle very heavy items.  If you have ordered recliners or other furniture that will arrive crated it must be delivered directly to your site or you must be able to come immediately to pick it up off the truck. And speaking of large furniture, if you replace furniture in your RV/home, then you are responsible for removing the old one and taking it to the Hernando County landfill. You can reach them at 352-754-4112.

We have concierge items in the racks on the walls for things to do in the area.

A box for Lost and Found items is located in the Mail Center. There are currently clothes and a yard flag waiting to be claimed.

    Grounds, Maintenance, IT Services

If you need assistance, please contact the office and they will complete a work order request so service requests can be prioritized. We appreciate your patience; we process all work orders, including for Internet as soon as possible. Please allow 24 hours for completion, except on weekends, which will be completed by the following Monday.  Our staff completed 1003 work orders during that past season.

Fire Ants vs. Pyramid Ants – Belle Parc contracts to have the entire resort grounds treated for fire ants and that has been done this fall.  If you see what you think are fire ants, look closely.  Pyramid Ant nests are small and shallow and feature a single entrance hole surrounded by a crater-shaped mound of excavated soil. They sometimes resemble small volcanoes. Pyramid ants are natural predators of other ants, especially red fire ants. Other than building unsightly nests, pyramid ants are typically not a nuisance to human beings.  These ants normally do not sting or behave aggressively towards humans. However, they may bite if their nest is disturbed.   Fire Ants build nests, called mounds, by pushing up soil as they tunnel in the earth; the mounds are usually flat or domed shaped. You can tell you have fire ants if you see a mound of fluffy worked soil, particularly a few days after a heavy rain. The mound has no opening in the center like most ant mounds. Fire ants leave and enter the mound housing the colony through underground tunnels. Do Not Disturb these nests; fire ants swarm and bite numerous times and cause painful blisters.  If you believe you have fire ants, please bring a small baggie to the maintenance show between 8am – 4pm for pellets to put on their mounds.

If you plan to be away from the Resort for an extended period of time, please let the office know if there is anyone we need to contact in case of an emergency and if you will be leaving a key with anyone.  We’d appreciate knowing when you will depart and return. As it is the guest’s choice to depart earlier than their departure date, once vacated, sites will be made available to rent to new guests.  This is standard practice in the RV industry.  Also, please pick up any items in your yard that could be damaged or cause damage during mowing activities or during a wind burst.

Internet service – we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service.  We try to give guests notice when the system needs to be taken down for service.  We are dependent upon the service provided by Spectrum.  If you are having issues, please let the office know.  Facebook comments are not a substitute for alerting staff and will not be addressed on that forum.

The SPEED LIMIT is 10 MPH in all areas of the Resort for all wheeled vehicles (including golf carts, bicycles, scooters, motorcycles).

NIGHT SAFETY:  Golf Carts must have working lights and must be turned on. Bicycles must have lights or reflectors.  Wear light colored or reflective clothing if you are out walking.  By law, golf carts are prohibited outside the resort.

GARBAGE CONTAINERS are located behind the shop, next to our off-site storage, and in the back of park site area.  Garbage is not to be stored on site at any time.  The Resort does not offer at site garbage pick-up.  Large items should not be placed in front of the garbage dumpsters, neither should they be cut apart in order to fit into the trash receptacles.  Hernando County Solid Waste & Recycling offers three locations to drop off furniture, large trash items, construction and demolition debris, yard waste, recycling and certain hazardous materials.

    • East Hernando Convenience Center 33070 Cortez Boulevard Ridge Manor, FL 33523 (352) 540-6205
    • Northwest Solid Waste & Recycling Facility (Main Landfill) 14450 Landfill Road Brooksville, FL 34614 (352) 754-4112
    • Solid Waste and Recycling Administration Office 14450 Landfill Road Brooksville, FL 34614 (352) 754-4112
    • West Hernando Convenience Center 2525 Osowaw Boulevard Spring Hill, FL 34607 (352) 754-4770

No permanent structures or items are allowed for guests staying less than 6 months. This includes planting trees, shrubs or flowers or laying paving stones.  Please do not secure items to sites or decks.

For all Motorhomes, and for Fifth Wheels that are 40ft or longer, if you do not have blocks under your jacks, please let us know.  Jacks can seriously damage the concrete, especially on heavier vehicles.  We have wooden blocks available to use while you are here.  We will charge a refundable deposit of $35 to your reservation invoice.

Belle Parc has equipment for guests’ use for mowing and trimming grass at their site.  Please complete a liability waiver available at the office when mowing your own site, even if you use your own equipment.  When you need to use Belle Parc equipment, please call the office so we can complete a work order and the equipment will be brought to your site, except on weekends.

Maintenance will pick up your bagged leaves.  As a reminder, please ensure you don’t pack the bags too full. If the bag breaks while being picked up, which can happen, especially if there are sticks included with leaves, maintenance does not have the manpower to re-bag them. Thank you for your assistance in keeping your site neat and clean.

If you are interested in volunteering for maintenance projects, please contact the office.

    Housekeeping

There are two laundry facilities at Belle Parc; one is at the end of the Maintenance Building and the other is in the Fitness Center, in the back of the building.  Both of these areas are conditioned and there is a TV room in the Maintenance Building laundry facility.  There is a dedicated pet washer and dryer in the Maintenance Building laundry.  Please do not use other machines for pet articles.  Please clean out lint filters and put lint in the garbage cans.  This assures the next guest will have a clean machine to use.  Please be aware that some guests have pet allergies and only use the dedicated machines for pet items.  Quarters are needed for the machines and can be purchased at the Activity Office, The Mail Center and the Reservation Office, whole rolls ($10) only, please.

Please do not leave clothes in the washers or dryers unattended.  If you must leave while the machines are running, please return as soon as possible so all guests can use our facilities.

Please do not use Canadian coins in the laundry machines; they will jam the mechanism and keep the equipment from operating.

We have high-efficiency (HE) washers and any excess detergent causes lots of bubbles that can overflow the machines and floor drains.  Please use HE detergent as the excess bubbles cannot be drained.  It also causes your laundry to not spin and drain correctly, resulting in overly wet clothes.  If you use detergent pods, please add them to the empty washer drum before adding clothes and water; the pod must be placed directly in the drum, never in a dispenser drawer.

There is still more to come; see Activities and Guest Services below.  We hope to see you at the Guest Appreciation Day festivities on Thursday, March 24 and for all our great staff and volunteers, at our Staff and Volunteer Appreciation celebration on March 30.  We have had a record number of guests who volunteered in large and small ways and we hope to be able to thank each of you in person.  Many classes and activities could not have happened without your help.  Thank you for sharing your time and talent.

In case of severe weather in Hernando County – there are no tornado shelters in Florida. Shelters (listed below) are for hurricane emergencies only.  Should there be significant damage to an area, a shelter may be opened after a tornado.

Hurricane shelters will be open in case of a hurricane. There may be additional precautions due to Covid-19.  If you have specific questions, please contact them.  There are no tornado shelters in Florida.  Guests need to scout the area for a place to go in case of severe storm emergency. Hernando Emergency Management also suggests guests subscribe to a severe weather phone app for warnings that would come through on their phone, or keep a weather radio available.

For more information, please contact Hernando Emergency Management at (352) 754-4083 or visit https://www.hernandocounty.us/departments/departments-a-e/emergency-management/shelter-information

    • D.S. Parrott Middle School (pet friendly – crate and shots records are needed)

Please pay attention to our pool rules and regulations.  Our pool and spa are not licensed for night use. The following are not allowed at the pool/spa area:  wood fires, glass containers of any kind, pets.  Chairs cannot be moved close enough to the pool or spa for guests to put their feet in the water; this area is strictly for use for emergencies.  There are two umbrellas that guests can move around. Umbrellas will need to be opened by staff as they must be taken down when it gets windy.

Due to Covid, we had suspended our 50-50 prize drawings.  We will be bringing this back on Guest Appreciation Day.  Half of the proceeds goes to the guest who wins the drawing (you must be present to win). The other half of the drawing goes into our activity funds to sponsor other activities and awards such as our decorating contests.

The phone system has been updated; we have added an option 2 for current guest general assistance. We have processed 628 work orders since October 1.

We are already in the planning stages for next season.  We hope to have more off-site group activities; response was low for some events due to Covid.  Pavilion upgrades will continue, including finishing the walls, installing air conditioning and heating, installing a dance floor and a kitchen area.

For those who will be leaving us soon, please see below for instructions to get you checked out and on your way.  Be safe on the road, have a fun summer wherever your RV takes you, and we look forward to seeing you in the future.  For our yearly guests, we hope you have a wonderful summer at Belle Parc.  We will be hosting a few events throughout the summer months.

The “Friends In Belle Parc” group on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/friendsinbelleparc.com  is a good way for guests to keep up with friends throughout the summer and until we meet again.  If you have questions or comments that you’d like to direct to us, the email activities@belleparcrvresorts.com and office@belleparcrvresorts.com will continue to be monitored during the summer. We do not always see Facebook posts, as they continually go to the end of our newsfeed so an email or a phone call is the best way to contact us.

Four more Park Models will be delivered this summer.  If you are interested in purchasing a park model, please contact the office to have your name and phone number added to our “interest” list. We will contact those interested as information becomes available.  We do not rent these park models and we do not sell the sites.

The office will close at 11 am on Thursday, March 24 so that our staff can enjoy Guest Appreciation Day and at 2pm on March 30 for Staff and Volunteer Appreciation celebration.

I’d like to thank all of our staff and volunteers who work so hard to keep everything flowing as smoothly as possible and keeping Belle Parc so beautiful, clean and an enjoyable place to stay.  Due to these efforts, Belle Parc consistently rates 4 -5 stars on Google and other web sites and we consistently maintain a 10-10-10 Good Sam rating.  We also wish to thank our guests, as these ratings also reflect the friendly, quiet atmosphere and other guests’ helpful and courteous efforts and their willingness to share their RV knowledge and adventures.

    GUEST SERVICES and ACTIVITIES

    Hi Belle Parc!

This will be our last newsletter for the snowbird season.  Our second summer seems to go by so fast.  It feels like we just arrived and now we are preparing to leave for our northern summer events.

Rest assured our entire staff will do our best to make your remaining time here is filled with things to do.  Remember, just because we are switching to our summer season doesn’t mean all events will end – some will end, some will change, some may go all summer long!  I will continue to monitor our activities@belleparcrvresorts.com email.  I will continue updating our TV information channel and our recurring events.  The reservation office will post and have paper copies of any changes or updates if you cannot view the TV information channel.  Email updates may not occur weekly but will occur if anything needs to be passed on to our guests still at the resort.

If you missed our other newsletters for this season, you can still get a printed copy from our Activity Staff up to April 1st or on our website www.belleparcrvresorts.com. We have offered more to do this season and we hope everyone has had as much to do as they want.  If you haven’t already; please fill out your activity suggestion form that you received in your arrival packet before you leave this season with any suggestions you may have for next season.  We do read these and we will do our best to make those things happen.

Our “Meet n’ Greet” gatherings on Mondays from 5pm-6:30pm will continue in the Pavilion through the end of March and guests still here April and May can continue to meet and greet if they like.  This is a free event to enjoy and meet your neighbors.  Remember this is a BYOB-BYOS event.

So far, the weather in March is not cooperating with outdoor events – hopefully this trend will not continue!  I hope everyone was able to get outside on Sunday, March 13th  for the yard sale.

Okay!  I think I have covered the happenings at Belle Parc for March!  However, one thing I cannot say enough – thanks to our Guest Services staff – Art, Marge, Mary, Gail, Bill, Ellen, Paul, Dee, Cindy and Jan and thanks to the rest of Belle Parc’s staff and our great volunteers for all the special things they do to make this a great resort!  Have a great March, enjoy your spring and summer and we will see you in the Fall for our 2022-2023 season!

    Sincerely,

    Glenn Woods, Guest Services Director

    IT, GROUNDS AND MAINTENANCE

Staff will continue mowing each week as needed and every week throughout the summer, weather permitting.  Please pick up any yard items that could be damaged or cause damage to property or persons, including items around lamp posts, utility posts, pedestals and elsewhere on your site.  Also, if your awning is out and staked in the grass, please pull in the awning and take the stakes up, so the mowers can get to that area. Otherwise, you will need to mow and/or trim weeds yourself.  If you decide to mow your site, please let the office know.  You will need to complete a liability waiver.

Please remember that high winds can be an issue in our area.  If you are going to be away from your RV, please remember to check the weather forecast and, if high winds are possible, please bring in your awning as well as yard items that could become projectiles.

    STAYING INFORMED AT BELLE PARC

Prior newsletters can be accessed from our website http://www.belleparcrvresorts.com/.  The link Current Newsletter is just below the photo banner on the home page. The link is also under Resort Info.   If you would like a printed copy, you can pick one up in the Mail Center; also, in the Activity Office or Welcome Center TV / Internet Café room on the table just outside the reservation office.  There is a lot of important information in these newsletters and I recommend you read them.  If you are unable to access them from the website, please send an email to office@belleparvrcresorts.com and we will email you a copy.

We make every effort to keep our guests informed of Belle Parc social and other Resort information and activities.  Our TV Channel 3 guide is updated as often as needed to include announcements and important Resort information.  For those of you who do not use our cable TV, I have included that general information the December 2021 newsletter.

During the winter “snowbird” season, our Guest Services Director sends weekly updates to all guests from activities@belleparcrvresorts.com; our reservation staff periodically send updates on reservation issues from info@belleparcrvresorts.com and our other office staff send updates for other office, maintenance and groundskeeping issues from office@belleparcrvresorts.com. Your email address is not visible to anyone else on these emails. We sometimes receive “undeliverable” messages from our server that an email was not delivered.  In that case, we verify that we have the correct email address and resend the email if necessary.  It sometimes occurs that we hear from guests that they are not receiving our emails; however, we have not received an “undeliverable” notification from our server for that guest.  If you do not receive at least one email per week, please check your email security settings and your spam filters to allow the above email addresses to your recognized contacts or your “safe” senders list. We download email addresses from our reservation software; there is no independent list of emails.  We unfortunately can only store one email per user profile.  Your email is automatically dropped from further messages as soon as you are checked out of our reservation system.

    Facebook

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/friendsinbelleparc.com

There is a public Friends In Belle Parc group on Facebook that is available for guests to communicate with each other.  If you would like to be added to that group, search for the group within Facebook or follow the above link to send a request to be added to the group.  If you experience difficulties, let our Guest Services staff know by stopping by the Activity Office or by sending us an email to activities@belleparcrvresorts.com.  If you need service or have a question for Belle Parc staff, please call the office.  We strive to post activity communications to this group but do not monitor it as closely as we do our emails. Any questions or problems will be addressed more thoroughly and quickly by contacting the appropriate staff.

  • FEBRUARY 2022 NEWSLETTER

    2022 Volume 2

Welcome to our guests who have arrived since our November, December and January newsletters were published. See the end of this newsletter for information regarding ways to stay informed at Belle Parc.

We will be sending out information regarding our new rates that go in effect on April 1, 2022 soon. The process for renewing your reservation for both seasonal and annual guests is explained in detail – see Reservations below.

A Park Model open house will be held on February 16 from 12noon – 2pm. If you are interested in purchasing a park model, please contact the office for information. We do not rent these park models.

Please keep in mind that people on foot can circumvent the gates or access the Resort property via other avenues. As you would at home, please lock your vehicles and take the appropriate steps to secure other valuables.

If you have tested positive for Covid-19 it is your responsibility to self-isolate, on your site for 5 days, even if you are not displaying any symptoms. Please be kind and notify anyone you may have exposed. Please do not let other guests approach you if you are sitting outside; let them know that you are in isolation. Do not use any Resort buildings or attend any activities. Do not approach any guest or staff member. We would like to thank everyone for observing the Covid-19 Regulations by wearing masks in all buildings, by social distancing and by maintaining the proper maximum occupancy for buildings and outdoor areas. With the infection level high in Florida, it is wise to assume anyone you come into contact with could potentially have Covid-19 and not have any symptoms; please protect yourself accordingly by keeping a safe distance and wearing a mask. See below for more information from the Florida Department of Health.

    https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/exposure/
What do I do if I think I was exposed to COVID-19?
Some people are at higher risk of getting very sick from COVID-19. Here’s what to do if you think you may have been exposed to coronavirus.
    Watch for symptoms

People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Anyone can have mild to severe symptoms. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:

    • Fever or chills
    • Cough
    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
    • Fatigue
    • Muscle or body aches
    • Headache
    • New loss of taste or smell
    • Sore throat
    • Congestion or runny nose
    • Nausea or vomiting
    • Diarrhea

This list does not include all possible symptoms. Older adults and people who have severe underlying medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at increased risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness. Talk to your health care provider about any other symptoms that are severe or concerning to you. Children can also be infected with, get sick from, and spread the COVID-19 virus. Children, like adults, who have COVID-19 but have no symptoms (asymptomatic) can still spread the virus to others. Most children with COVID-19 have mild symptoms or have no symptoms at all. However, some children can get severely ill from COVID-19. You can use the CDC’s self-checker to help make decisions and seek appropriate medical care regarding COVID-19.

When to seek emergency medical attention

If someone is showing any of these signs, seek emergency medical care immediately:

    • Trouble breathing
    • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
    • New confusion
    • Inability to wake or stay awake
    • Pale, gray, or blue-colored skin, lips, or nail beds, depending on skin tone

This list is not all possible symptoms. Please call your health care provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning to you. Call 911 or call ahead to your local emergency facility. Notify the operator that you are seeking care for someone who has or may have COVID-19.

    Get Tested

If you are concerned about a potential exposure, you should talk to your health care provider and get tested for COVID-19. Regardless of whether you are unvaccinated or fully vaccinated, if you develop symptoms of COVID-19, you should keep your distance, be evaluated by a health care provider, and get tested. You can find testing locations here. Learn more about COVID-19 symptoms here and testing here.

Talk to your health care provider about potential post-exposure treatments

Treatments used for COVID-19 should be prescribed by a health care provider.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued emergency use authorization for Regeneron Pharmaceuticals’ REGEN-COV (casirivimab and imdevimab) for post-exposure prophylaxis of COVID-19 in people who are at high risk for progression to severe COVID-19, including hospitalization or death, and are:

    • Not fully vaccinated (2 weeks after a person’s final dose of a COVID-19 vaccine) or who are not expected to mount an adequate immune response to complete COVID-19 vaccination (for example, people with immunocompromising conditions including those taking immunosuppressive medications) and
      • Have been exposed to a person infected with COVID-19 consistent with close contact criteria per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or
      • Who are at high risk of exposure to a person infected with COVID-19 because of occurrence of COVID-19 infection in other people in the same institutional setting (for example, nursing homes, prisons, etc.)
    • Post-exposure prophylaxis with REGEN-COV (casirivimab with imdevimab) is not intended to be a substitute for vaccination against COVID-19.
    • REGEN-COV is not authorized for pre-exposure prophylaxis for prevention of COVID-19.

More information can be found on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s website.

    Calling 911

When guests arrive at Belle Parc, they are given a Welcome Packet that has a white, removeable label on the outside of the plastic bag which has that guest’s 911 address listed. This is the address you should provide to 911. Each site (and building) has its own 911 address. Do not give the 11050 Elliots Way address as this will cause them to stop by the Welcome Center. If you no longer have your label, the light pole on your site has the 5-digit 911 address; you will need to include what road your site is on when calling 911; the 5-digit 911 number by itself is insufficient. If you are in doubt, please contact the office and we will provide your 911address. The address of the Welcome Center is 11050 Elliots Way; the Activity Center is 21435 Ancient Trail; the Fitness Center is 21424 Ancient Trail. If the emergency is at one of these buildings, give that address to 911 dispatch.

    GUEST SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES

    Hello Everyone,

The race to the finish line is beginning – LOL! We are trying to fit in as much as possible in our remaining “snowbird time”.

I hope you are enjoying your time here! If you don’t have enough to do – get with our Activity Staff. They will assist you in finding what will keep you active. Whether you like dining, biking, touring, kayaking, socializing, reading, dancing, exercising or whatever, our staff can point you in the right direction.

If you missed our other newsletters for this season you can still get a printed copy from our Activity Staff or on our website www.belleparcrvresorts.com. We are offering a lot more to do this season and we hope everyone has as much to do as they want. Please, if you haven’t already; fill out your activity suggestion form that you received in your arrival packet. We do read these and we do our best to make those things happen.

Tonica and Jason have moved on to new opportunities; however, the Food Trailer is still open with the help of Paul, Ellen and Bill. Our thanks to them for allowing us to keep this great food venue open for our guests.

Our “Meet n’ Greet” gatherings happen every Monday from 5pm-6:30pm at the Activity Center and many will continue to have live music. On live music nights our Meet n’ Greet is extended to 7pm. This is a free event to enjoy and meet your neighbors. Remember this is a BYOB-BYOS event.

All paid events on the resort property use tickets only instead of cash. You can purchase those tickets at our outside Dutch-door at the Activity Center. You can now buy $1.50 tickets for a la carte sides from the food trailer or snacks at the Activity Center such as drinks, candy bars and other small items if you have a hankering and don’t want to leave the Resort.

Don’t forget to read our weekly email updates, check our bulletin boards, and get hard copies of our weekly updates from the Activity Center staff for our regular recurring events, food, crafts, bingo and special events throughout the remaining “snowbird” season. February and March 2022 will see more live music, hopefully another dinner cruise and more!

Some upcoming events for the remainder of February and heading into March 2022 are:

    • Sunday, February 13th, 2022 – doors open at 3pm for Super Bowl LVI celebration at the Activity Center. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:30pm. Bring your easy chair and end table, don’t scratch our floors, and make sure you are on the correct TV side for viewing the game. Both TVs will be up and running and each team will have their viewing area. This is also a BYOB and BYOS event. If you want to share your BYOS that is up to you – enjoy and have a great time!
    • Sunday, February 13th – the Ice Cream Social is cancelled.
    • Monday, February 14th, 2022 is a busy day for everyone.
      • The Food Trailer is closed.
      • 1-3pm we will have line dancing in the Activity Center to get you ready for the day’s events with your better half
      • 4-5pm will be Valentine’s Day dinner (In the Pavilion!) This event has already closed for ticket sales and we hope you’ll join in next season.
      • Finally, 6-9pm will be a Valentine’s Day dance featuring DJ Brandon Burgess who, hopefully, will play all those line dance songs many of you have learned as well as music for everyone to dance to and enjoy. The dance is a free event – of course those who enjoyed the dinner will have the best seating in the Pavilion.
    • On Wednesday, February 16th, for 12-2pm we will be hosting an “Open House” with free viewing of our park models. These models are on sites 150, 147, 134, 132. If you are interested come and look. Please leave your pet(s) at home. No pets are allowed in the show models.
    • On Saturday, February 19th, 2022 from 10am-3pm, at the Pavilion come enjoy the 1st annual craft fair for Belle Parc. This is a free event to attend, show, and sell your crafts. We have many talented and creative guests. If you are showing and/or selling make sure you sign up in the Activity Center hallway so we will know how many tables to set up!
    • Regular bingo occurs every Thursday 6:30-8:30pm and our Booze Bingo is now scheduled for every Tuesday, beginning February 15th, 2022 6:30-8:30pm

A signup sheet is already posted in the Activity Center hallway. If you wish to participate you need to pay a $5.00 entrance fee at the Activity Center beginning Wednesday, February 16th @ 10am through Wednesday, February 23rd @2pm. So, if you are interested in attending, please come down to the Activity Center and sign up now and then return to pay you entrance fee on the dates just mentioned. This is an hours-long “meet n’ greet” at different stations throughout the resort; each guest will pick up a playing card at each station and the guest with the highest poker hand at the end of the day will receive a cash prize.
    • Upcoming events in March! Please keep tuned in to our email updates and check our bulletin boards throughout the resort.

Just a reminder! Our uninvited neighbor the “Omicron Variant” of Covid is making the rounds. If you feel flu like symptoms coming on – don’t take chances! Isolate and if you have a fever – please get tested. Trust me, your peace of mind will be helped knowing the results and you can protect other friends and family within the resort.

Feel free to contact the Guest Services staff if you have questions by stopping by the Activity Office or by sending us an email to activities@belleparcrvresorts.com or you can call the main number (352) 593-5852 and use option 3 to leave a message for us. Whew! A lot of things to take in and plan for! Enjoy your time here at Belle Parc RV Resort, however long it may be.

    RESERVATION OFFICE

It’s hard to believe we are already more than halfway through our winter season! Hopefully, by the time you are reading this we have already started our renewal process. However, if we have not received the new rates yet, here is a brief overview of our renewal process which is only open to guests who had a reservation for at least 4 months this season and would like to return for at least 4 months next season. An email with the details should be going out shortly so keep checking!

    Phase 1:

If you want to keep your same site for 2022/2023 season you only need to complete the Renewal Request for Same Site form and turn it in to the office by the deadline.

    Phase 2:

After removing the sites from Phase 1, we will send out an email with the remaining sites available and you can turn in the Renewal Request for Different Site form with your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices. Your current site that you gave up will also show on this list so you could also use that as one of your 3 choices!

    Phase 3:

Once we have everyone set with a site for next season, we will send out a final email with the sites that are still available prior to calling from the wait list. You will have 1 final chance to make a change, but at this time there will be a $10 site change fee.

Just a reminder that we still have jackets, zip-up hoodies, shirts, and hats with our logo for sale at the office. If there is a specific size you are requesting, we may be able to order that.

    Departures:

Some of our guests will be leaving before our March newsletter is published, so below are reminders for our check-out process. Please note the following processes for checking out. If you are leaving us for now, we want to extend our sincere appreciation for staying with us this season. We hope you have enjoyed your stay. Upon checking out, you will receive an email from our reservation system with a link to a comment form. We appreciate all comments. We believe Belle Parc is a wonderful place to stay and would like to understand ways we can improve our services.

    Welcome Signs:

You may take your personalized Belle Parc yard sign with you and bring it back next year -or- you may bring it to the Activity Center office for storage until next year. Please note: if you take it home and forget it next year, a replacement will not be provided.

    • You may need to get a paper form from US Post Office for forwarding your mail if you did not submit it as a temporary change on your original request.

If you will be departing on a Saturday or Sunday, you will need to remove the modem yourself and turn in to the office. Please ensure you turn in the modem, plug-in cord, and the long coaxial cable. MAIL CENTER

The Mail Center continues to be busy; and during the month of January we still received plenty of packages, as many as 100+ on any given day! Please help us keep our small storage area available for new mail by picking up your mail, especially packages, as soon after they are delivered as possible. We notify guests when packages arrive either by email or phone call.

It is not unusual for a guest to get a confirmation that a package has been delivered before we have received it. We have researched this issue and have found that vendors sometimes report a package as delivered when it reaches the local post office. We have had incidences where the package was reported as delivered but it was still on the delivery truck. It is often the case that it is the next day before the package reaches us. We had an instance where a package was reported to the guest as delivered by the post office on a particular date and time and we were able to determine from other packages that were received that the post office made their daily delivery at a different time of that day than what they reported to the guest, so the information the post office gave the guest was incorrect. As neither our guests or we are in total control of mail receipt reporting, please let us know when you are missing a package; we will make every effort to locate it and let you know it has arrived. We appreciate your patience.

Bins are available for smaller packages and the key to the appropriate bin will be in your mail box. Please return it after use to the locked key box on the front counter. The lobby and mail boxes are accessible 7 days a week, 24-hours a day. You will need to have your mail box key.

Quarter rolls and a limited number of stamps are also for sale in the Mail Center. We have free copying capability. Fax capability is no longer available.

    Bob, Denny

    GROUNDS AND MAINTENANCE

Work is proceeding in the Pavilion. More and brighter lights have been installed and the walls have been sprayed with insulation. A stage has been built for musical acts. We are now working on heating the area. Thank you for your patience as we continue to improve this guest space.

Please do not use Canadian coins in the laundry machines – they will jam the mechanism and keep the equipment from operating. We have high-efficiency (HE) washers and any excess detergent causes lots of bubbles that can overflow the machines and floor drains. Please use HE detergent, as the excess bubbles cannot be drained. It also causes your laundry to not spin and drain correctly, resulting in overly wet clothes. If you use detergent pods in the washers in our laundry areas, please add the pods to the empty washer before the clothes and water. Pods should be placed in the drum, never in a dispenser drawer.

The firewood that is stored at the fire pit behind the Activity Center is for use at that fire ring only. Guests who wish to burn wood at their site should purchase their own from local vendors. A suggested vendor who has delivered firewood for guests in the past is Mike’s Firewood (352) 232-9209. Only small amounts of wood can be stored at sites. If you wish to purchase more than what would be needed for one or two nights, please check with our office to see if there is room in our off-site storage area for larger purchases.

We will be mowing sites periodically throughout this time of year. We send out a notification when possible, to alert guests to pick up their yard items. Although the schedule has to be worked around the growth of grass, weeds, and the weather, a typical mowing schedule is to begin on Mondays. Please pick up any yard items that could be damaged by our equipment, or that could cause damage to guests’ property or persons. So that staff can trim weeds around trees, street signs, lamp posts, utility posts, pedestals and elsewhere on your site, please pick up any items in these areas. I know that guests like to decorate and personalize their sites with flags and other decorative items, and this gives the Resort a touch of color and whimsy; we want to make sure your items do not get damaged or unintentionally cause damage. We appreciate your assistance.

Guests who wish to mow their own sites need to complete a liability waiver, which can be obtained at the office, and let us know they wish to be added to our list of sites to not mow. Please call the office so they can complete a work order to bring the mowing equipment to your site. Any sites not mowed by guests will be mowed by our staff if needed, even if you are on the “no mow” list. Some guests use their own equipment to mow and trim weeds. These guests still need to sign a liability waiver, as their actions could cause damage to a neighbor’s property.

If you need assistance with any maintenance, grounds, modem or IT issues, please contact the office and they will complete a work order so service requests can be prioritized. Our staff have fulfilled over 525 work order requests since October 1. We appreciate your patience; we process all work orders, including for Internet as soon as possible, most of the time on the same day of the request.

Guests should not drill holes in the picnic tables, concrete or decks for any reason. Any damage to Belle Parc property will be charged to the guest.

    STAYING INFORMED AT BELLE PARC

Prior newsletters can be accessed from our website www.belleparcrvresorts.com. If you are unable to access them from the website, please send an email to office@belleparcrvresorts.com and we will email you a copy.

We make every effort to keep our guests informed of Belle Parc social and other Resort information and activities. Our TV Channel 3 guide is updated as often as needed to include announcements and important Resort information. For those of you who do not use our cable TV, I have included that general information the December 2021 newsletter.

Belle Parc has a 10 MPH Speed Limit for all wheeled vehicles (Golf Carts, Bicycles, Scooters, Motorcycles, RV, Trucks, Automobiles, etc.) throughout the entire resort.

    Facebook

facebook.com/groups/friendsinbelleparc.com There is a public Friends In Belle Parc group on Facebook that is available for guests to communicate with each other.

  • JANUARY 2022 NEWSLETTER

    2022 Volume 1

I would like to thank my Guest Services staff – Art, Marge, Mary, Gail, Bill, Ellen, Paul, Dee, Cindy and Jan for the work they do and the happiness they bring to you – give them a shout out next time you see them!

    Mail:

Keys: Please make sure to return your mailbox key to the Mailroom. Failure to do so will incur a charge of $25 for a replacement. Our staff will give you a receipt upon return of your key, if you wish.

Mail Forwarding: Postal regulations have changed the way we are permitted to handle your mail as follows:

    • You may need to get a paper form from US Post Office for forwarding your mail if you did not submit it as a temporary change on your original request.
    • First Class Mail that is directly addressed to you at our Elliot’s Way address can be forwarded if you leave forwarding address labels.
    • First Class Mail that has been forwarded from your home address (yellow labels) will be sent back to your home post office for delivery. It is recommended that you stop forwarding at least one week prior to departure to avoid mail being in route after you have left.

    Electric Bills:

Please advise our reservation staff the day before your departure so that we can read your electric meter. Your final electric bill must be paid at the Welcome Center office before you leave -or- you may give us written permission to charge your credit card on file for the remaining balance after departure, and we will send a receipt via email.

    Modems:

    • Internet Modem Box should be uninstalled by our Resort technician. Modem Disconnect Forms are available at the Welcome Center to schedule the removal (please give 72hrs advance notice). If you will be departing on a Saturday or Sunday, you will need to remove the modem yourself and turn in to the office. Please ensure you turn in the modem, plug-in cord, and the long coaxial cable. Refundable $50 deposits will be processed after our Resort technician receives the modem/coaxial cable, confirms splitter/filter remain on the cable pole, and submits the form to the Welcome Center.
    • TV/Converter box can just be turned in to the Welcome Center.

    Jack Blocks:

If you borrowed a set of jack blocks for your RV this season, please make sure to return it in order to receive a refund of your deposit.

    On-Site Storage:

    • Storage fees must be paid in full prior to your departure.
    • Please advise the office staff if anyone is responsible for checking your unit while you’re away, and whether or not they have keys.
    • All water hoses, sewer hoses and cable wires must be stored in your RV. Connected power cords must be placed inside black corrugated pipe or PVC pipe to protect against mowing equipment damage.
    • Move RV to middle of the site and close all slides.
    • All outdoor items (chairs/patio furniture/lawn decorations) must be stored in your RV. No items can be left on site due to the possibility of them becoming projectiles during high winds. Belle Parc assumes no responsibility for items left on-site.
    • Please ensure Maintenance and Reservation staff have confirmed the above items prior to leaving so you do not incur unexpected charges.
    Rhonda
    Kim, Judy, Deb, Susan, Bob

    2021-Volume 5

The resort is looking very festive. We appreciate everyone who has decorated their vehicles and sites and we hope guests take a look around the resort during the day and at night to see all the beautiful decorations and lights. Please remember to not cover the 5-digit 911 site number on the lamp post at your site. Emergency responders need that address to find your site when they come to the resort. I’d also like to thank the staff who decorated inside and outside the buildings and the guests who helped decorate the Christmas tree in the Activity Center.

If you plan to be away from the resort for the holidays (or at any other extended period of time), please let the office know if there is anyone we need to contact in case of an emergency and if you will be leaving the key with anyone. Please pick up and stow any outside items that could be damaged or cause damage during mowing activities or a wind burst.

We received more park models this summer for sale. They are ready for viewing and we are in the process of setting up an open house. If you are interested in purchasing one, please contact the office for information. We do not rent park models and viewing is by appointment only.

Our electrician is still in the process of adding more and brighter lighting, insulation and other improvements to the Pavilion. Unfortunately, we are waiting for city/county inspectors to approve work that has been done before we can proceed.

We strive keep our grounds and facilities in top-notch condition; to be a welcoming place to stay; and a place to come to get to know new friends and visit old ones. Pet waste not properly being disposed of continues to happen. This is unsightly and unsanitary. If you see someone not abiding by any of our resort policies, please let our staff know so we can take appropriate action.

Please remember that we are still in the middle of a pandemic. Occupancy signs are located on all buildings and the pool area and our Covid-19 policy is posted on all doors. Please keep yourselves and each other safe. If you have tested positive for Covid-19 it is your responsibility to self-isolate, on your site, even if you are not displaying any symptoms. Please be considerate and notify anyone you may have exposed. Guests who have tested positive may not leave their site, even to walk pets. (We will deliver your mail to your site. You may take your garbage to the dumpster so long as you wear a mask and gloves.) Please do not let other guests approach you if you are sitting outside; let them know that you are in isolation. Do not use any resort buildings or attend any activities. Do not approach any guest or staff member. Per the CDC you can be around others after 10 days since symptoms first appeared and 24 hours with no fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and other symptoms of covid-19 are improving.

Enjoy this wonderful season. See the information below for information on our policies and processes and lots of things to do in the coming weeks. I think I can promise you that the weather, although sometimes unpredictable, will be warm, sunny and no sleet or measurable snow will fall. You definitely won’t need an ice scraper or shovel.

    Reservation Office

A safety reminder for all our guests: please memorize your 911 address as it is very important. Your welcome packet included a label on the front with this information, which you can put in a safe and easily-accessed place. The 5-digit sign on your lamp post and the street you are located on is the 911 address and will bring emergency vehicles directly to your site. And, speaking of emergencies, thanks to one of our guest’s suggestions, we will also be installing a siren operated sensor system that will allow emergency vehicles to automatically open the gate upon arrival, instead of having to stop and input the gate code. Although they always had the gate code and it has never stopped them from entering, this will make it quicker to get to you in an emergency.

For your convenience if you haven’t already done so, we can pay your bills (rent, electric, internet and storage) automatically every month for you. If you would like to sign-up, stop by the welcome center, help desk or call us so we can put the form in your mailbox to sign.

As it is getting colder out, stop in the Welcome Center and shop for new clothing with our new color line for ladies and men.

Watch your email and mailbox for information after the first of the year for Renewal Time for 2022-2023 Season!

If you haven’t called the office lately, you may not have noticed we have a new system and now you can reach our office, the mailroom, and activities! Call 352-593-5852 and press Option 1 (Reservation Desk); Option 3 (Activities); and Option 4 (Mailroom). Option 5 also gives you our address and website information.

We want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Reservation office staff.

    Mail Center

Ever wonder how busy the mailroom is this time of year? We received 561 packages in the mailroom the first week of December, an average of 80 packages per day! So please ensure you pick up your package(s) on a daily basis, so we have room for more. We will call or email you when packages arrive. If you want to check on a delivery, we can be reached at 352 593-5852 option 4.

We will not be able to accept large, crated packages/boxes at the mailroom for delivery.

We are no longer able to offer fax services but we can scan and email items for you. Please see the office staff for assistance.

    Grounds, Maintenance, IT Services

Firewood is provided for guests’ use upon request for a group activity at the fire pit only. Please let the activity staff know in advance, so they can have wood brought to the fire pit.

Guests who wish to burn wood at their site should purchase their own from local vendors. Only small amounts of wood can be stored at sites (enough for one or two fires). If you wish to purchase larger supplies, please check with the office to see if there is room in our off-site storage area.

All sites should now have new picnic tables. If you do not, please let us know. These tables should not be altered in any way by the guests, including cutting holes for umbrellas, cutting or painting/staining the surface or any other defacement. Do not place hot grills or any other items that will damage the tables. If the table is moved to the grass, it will be the guests’ responsibility to move the table back to the site pad so staff can mow and trim grass on sites. Guests will be charged the full cost for replacing any damaged or altered table.

Guests are required to maintain their sites in a neat and orderly manner. Storage of any kind is not permitted around or under your RV.

All street lights should be working now as we’ve been changing out the solar light batteries. Just let us know if you still have one that needs a new battery.

Need more storage space outside? We have now approved deck boxes on your site to a maximum size of 6ft wide x 4ft high x 4ft deep. They must be stored on the concrete, and they have to be removed when you leave the resort when your reservation has ended.

As the park is getting fuller and busier, please obey all stop signs as well as the speed limit throughout the park. This includes vehicles, bikes, and golf carts. Guests are walking and our little furry friends are on leashes. Thank you for helping us keep Belle Parc safe for everyone.

    Housekeeping

Please do not use Canadian coins in the laundry machines; they will jam the mechanism and keep the equipment from operating. We have high-efficiency (HE) washers and any excess detergent causes lots of bubbles that can overflow the machines and floor drains. Please use HE detergent as the excess bubbles cannot be drained. It also causes your laundry to not spin and drain correctly, resulting in overly wet clothes. If you use detergent pods, please add them to the empty washer drum before adding clothes and water; the pod must be placed directly in the drum, never in a dispenser drawer.

    Guest Services and Activities

    Hello Belle Parc Family!

Welcome back or welcome to our 2021-2022 winter ‘snowbird season’. Whether you are a fulltime guest, a returning guest, or a new guest – you will see this really is our ‘home away from home’ and our second family.
